Notice for Primary Election Voters:
New Jersey Public Law (L1975 c260) requires a voter to be a member of a political party 55 days before the Primary Election unless the voter is a new registrant or one who has never voted in a Primary Election. If you have voted in a Primary Election and want to change and become a voter in a different political party, you must file a declaration of intent with the Commissioner of Registration no later than the 55th day prior to the Primary Election date.
